Greetings
Unionites and Panther faithful! Welcome to your esteemed,
beloved alma mater and the Office of Alumni Relations. Alumni
Relations serves as the official liaison and primary communications
link between the University and our alumni body. The mission
of VUU Alumni Relations is to support the University’s
commitment to higher education excellence by cultivating,
maintaining, and inspiring lifelong loyalty, support, philanthropy,
stewardship, learning, and service among alumni, students,
and friends.
Alumni
Relations aspires to offer a variety of activities, programs,
and services that are of interest to our diverse alumni family.
These include, but are not limited to, recognition and celebratory
events, educational and engagement offerings, personal growth
and development opportunities, social and entertainment/leisure
events, cultural activities, and information and referral
services.
In both the immediate
and near futures, we will focus primarily on three major areas
which define and map our general direction within the larger
University picture. Firstly, significant emphasis will be
placed on expanding our alumni database and improving our
data management capabilities. Secondly, we will become more
creative and prudent with our existing resources which will
allow us to take advantage of opportunities to engage our
alumni more readily and frequently, and increase alumni participation
in the life of the University. Lastly, Alumni Relations will
assume a larger role in increasing alumni giving to support
endowed scholarships, improvements and additions to the campus’
living and learning environments, and boosting the University’s
national exposure and student recruitment efforts.
VUU alumni are
a major constituency and stakeholder in the preservation of
the University’s rich legacy and bright future. We invite
each alumna and alumnus to remain connected and become more
actively involved in creating the seamless partnerships that
will help maintain the University at a level of national acclaim.
