John Kinney,
Dean of the School of Theology, describes the institution
as a place "where the academy and the church, faith
and praxis, head and heart, past and future, meet. In
this place we celebrate the presence of Christ, claim
the gifts of our heritage, attend to the contexts of
ministry, and explore the truth that sets us free. Our
goal is to provide an educational experience where persons
are stimulated and challenged intellectually, formed
and transformed spiritually, and equipped and resourced
practically."
It's also
a place where students of different backgrounds and
of differing spiritual orientations interact and discuss
and grow with each other. The Theologue Fellowship,
encourages dialogue; worship is a regular part of student
life; and there are other varied opportunities for spiritual
fellowship and reflection.
