The
Steering Committee of the vivacious and dynamic VUU Class
of 64-68 welcomes you to our 40th Reunion year celebration and
to your class website. We are looking forward to seeing you
in October 2008, and we hope that you will find your website
an invaluable source of communication to you as you prepare
to celebrate this milestone in your life with your classmates.
In September 2007 a Steering Committee emerged to coordinate
plans for our 40th Reunion celebration. In order to set goals
and to stay on course, the Committee felt compelled to craft
a Mission Statement. It reads:
The Virginia Union University Freshman Class of 1964 and
the Graduating Class of 1968 desires to endow our Alma Mater
with the means to attract and graduate the best and brightest
scholars regardless of their economic status, gender, race,
ethnicity, or religious affiliation. To the pursuit of academic,
excellence, community service, and athletic superiority, we
pledge our financial support and our loyalty to our “Nurturing
Mother.”
This mission statement guides the work
of the Steering Committee as it diligently plans events for
our class reunion. Please complete the “Update My Profile”
at
http://www.vuu.edu/classof 68/updatemyprofile.htm so that you may stay up to date with
minutes of meetings, fund raising events, and eventually,
Homecoming/Reunion events.
In order to reach the goal we set in
our Mission Statement and make this reunion everything it
can be and more, we need to contact our “missing”
classmates. At
http://
www.vuu.edu/classof68/findlostalumni.htm
we have listed the names of our
classmates for whom we have no information. If you know
anyone on this list, refer her/him to
http://www.vuu.edu/classof68/updatemyprofile.htm.
If you are planning to attend our 40th Reunion celebration,
submit the survey at
http://www.vuu.edu/classof68/attending the reuion.htm
We appreciate your feedback and your patience as we prepare
for this special reunion. It’s through the efforts of
all of us that we will make our 40th Reunion an overwhelming
success.
Thank you for all of your time, effort, and participation
in our fund raising efforts.
