                                              Virginia Union Administrator to Head New Foundation
  

(Richmond, VA) -  Samuel T. Rhoades, J.D., Special Assistant to the President/Title III Administrator at Virginia Union University has been named executive director of the National Association of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Title III Administrators Foundation.  The new foundation will serve as a means of strengthening resource development capacity, supporting institutional effectiveness, assessing and improving management and performance of Title III programs, and providing student scholarships at historically black colleges.

     Rhoades served as president of the National Association of HBCU Title III Administrators from 2003 to 2007 and says his main objective in his new role is to ensure the viability of historically black colleges for future generations.  The Association’s 105-member institutions are currently responsible for the administration and stewardship of funds in excess of $390 million annually under the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended.
