Actor/Director/Producer Delroy Lindo will deliver the 2013 Commencement address at Virginia Union University. The ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 11 on Hovey Field. Approximately 328 graduates are expected to receive degrees. This includes 175 students from the undergraduate program and 153 students from the graduate school of theology.

The 28th Annual Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held September 27, 2013 in Atlanta, Georgia. This is the 28th annual induction ceremony held by the organization, which provides scholarships for students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and highlights accomplishments of alumni of HBCUs.

Virginia Union Announces Groundbreaking First New Building in 15 Years

Virginia Union University will break ground on the new Robert J. Brown Living and Learning Center on December 6, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. The Center is a $15 million complex consisting of a conference and seminar facility and residential suites supporting 240 beds. The new building, which will sit where the campus basketball courts now stand, will be the first new construction since the L. Douglas Wilder Library and Learning Resource Center in 1997. The last residence hall on the Lombardy Street campus was built in 1966.
