If
you receive a message that says your Mailbox is full or
mailbox is closed follow these steps too fix it.
- Delete
all the items you don’t want.
(copies of messages, message with attachments {save
the attachments first if you want them} clear out
old sent items)
- Keep
your Deleted Items folder empty (Right
click on Deleted Items then click on Empty Deleted
Items)
- Go
to your Options. It’s located at the very bottom of
the screen on the left hand side.
- Scroll
down to the bottom. You will see the recycling bin
open it and Permanently delete all item that are in
it
Email Maintenance
E-mail is an indispensable communication tool at VUU.
It is important to perform maintenance on your e-mail
account to keep things running smoothly. Here are some
tips to keep your account in good working order:
- Do
not open e-mail from an unknown source. Delete the
message! By not opening these messages and keeping
your anti-virus software up-to-date, you minimize
the chances of a virus infecting your computer.
- After
you read you email, please be sure to delete the message.
To delete, click on the "X" or delete button, AND
click on the "trash can" to complete the deletion
process. Most people think that clicking the delete
button is enough. You must Click
on the Trash Can button too!.
Preventing
spam
Spam is unsolicited commercial e-mail. To help prevent
spam:
- Never
respond to spam. This only confirms that your e-mail
address is valid, and you're likely to get even more.
- Do
not post your e-mail address on your Web page.
- Use
a second e-mail address to sign up for mailing lists
or to make purchases on the Web. You can sign up for
free e-mail service through various providers, including
Hotmail and Yahoo.
- Do
not give out your e-mail address without knowing how
it will be used.
