SUMMER BRIDGE FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. What classes will I take in Summer Bridge, and will they count toward my degree?
You will take the first of the required English composition courses (English 100 or 101, depending on placement test scores), Math (100 or 115, depending on placement test scores), and GST 004, which is a General Studies/Freshman Orientation Course.
2. How much does the Summer Bridge Program Cost?
The Summer Bridge Program is a total of $1,500. This includes housing, tuition and meals. There will be an additional cost for books. Payment plans are available. Contact the Office of Undergraduate Studies at 804-342-3885 for information.
3. What if I have an outside obligations during the dates of Summer Bridge (summer job, family vacation, etc.)
The Summer Bridge Program is a four week, full-time experience. During Summer Bridge you will have classes, and activities all day. You MUST be able to participate during the duration of the program.
4. When does the Summer Bridge Program take place?
Move-in day is Sunday, June 23, 2013. Students will be notified of the Residence Hall and exact check in time once they have confirmed that they will be attending by returning their registration form and initial deposit.
5. How do I register for Summer Bridge?
You may register for the Summer Bridge program in a variety of ways. Each freshman student that has confirmed their attendance to VUU, should have received an invitation and registration form from the Center for Undergraduate Studies. You may complete it and return it to Virginia Union University c/o Summer Bridge, ATTN: Center for Undergraduate Studies, P.O. Box 428 1500 North Lombardy Street. Richmond, Va. 23220. Or you may, fax a letter of interest to 804-257-5792. Email a notice of interest to mdhardy@vuu.edu.
