Computer Labs
VUU offers a variety of computer labs across campus, including main labs in the library and in Ellison, Pickford, and Martin E. Gray halls. Ellison Hall also features a multimedia language laboratory for the study of foreign languages.
Mathematics Lab
Located in 109 Ellison Hall, the Math Lab offers resources such as personal computers with math tutorial software, printers, and reference books. For students needing extra assistance, the Math Lab Director is available during posted lab hours and by appointment.
Mathematics and Science Lab
Our Math and Science Lab, also known as the Social Science Lab, provides technical support for students as they complete projects in mathematics and the sciences. Lab resources--which are available to students enrolled in courses in math, science, and social sciences--include personal computers with word processing, programming, and spreadsheet software as well as mathematics workbooks.
Writing Lab
VUU's Writing Lab, located in 217 Ellison Hall, is a great place to improve your writing skills. Resources in the lab include personal computers with word processing and English tutorial software, printers, grammar handbooks, dictionaries, thesauri, and Graduate Record Examination (GRE) preparation software and workbooks. If you need special attention, the Writing Lab Director is available to assist students during posted lab hours and by appointment.
Basic Skills Program
The Basic Skills Program is VUU's center for academic skill building and development. Located in 118 Ellison Hall, this program offers students the opportunity to take part in one-on-one tutorial sessions as well as workshops in areas such as college survival skills, test-taking techniques, developing study skills, notetaking, and time and stress management.
The Language Lab
Established to assist students with the mastery of oral and written communication skills in English, Spanish, and French, the Language Lab is open to students majoring in English, Journalism, and Foreign Languages. The Language Lab is a multimedia facility housing personal computers with audio, video, and word processing capabilities.
