WHAT IS THE MID EASTERN ALLIANCE

FOR MINORITY PARTICIPATION (MEAMP)?

         MEAMP is designed to increase the enrollment and graduation rate of

underrepresented ethnic minorities in science, technology, engineering and

mathematics (STEM).

              One of 25 such programs sponsored by the National Science Foundation

(NSF), MEAMP was launched on December 5, 2001. MEAMP composed of a

partnership with four-year colleges and universities in Virginia, Tennessee, and

North Carolina. Each partner institution tailors its own program to the needs of their

individual students.
