VUU Panthers Earn #2 Seed in NCAA South Atlantic Regional Tournament

RICHMOND, VA – This season Virginia Union University turned in an impressive 21-5 mark, but saw its streak of three consecutive CIAA Championships snapped. The Panthers, however, were not deterred from their goal of reaching the NCAA Tournament. After falling to Elizabeth City State University 63-60 on Saturday evening at the 2007 CIAA basketball tournament, the Panthers earned an at large bid to the 2007 NCAA Tournament as the 2nd seed in the South Atlantic Region. The opening rounds of the tournament will be hosted by Augusta State University (Augusta, GA) on March 10th, 11th and 13th. The Panthers will begin their run at the National Championship title on March 10th, when they face 7th seeded Lander University. Game times and ticket prices will be released at a later date.
