Virginia Union University's men's tennis team finished fifth at the CIAA Championships, held April 19-22 at Virginia State University in Petersburg, Va.
Shaw University won the team title with 72 total points. Johnson C. Smith University finshed second with 62 points while Virginia State finished third with 48 points.
North Carolina Central University was fourth with 42 points with VUU fifth with 32 points.
Winston-Salem State University finished sixth while Saint Augustine's was seventh. Saint Paul's College brought up the rear in eighth place.
