NEWPORT NEWS, VA – The VUU men’s track team finished in 4th place at the 2007 CIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships at Christopher Newport University on Sunday afternoon.
Four Panthers garnered All-CIAA honors including Marquis Davis, Kevin Dykes, Melvin Eddison and Geofray Langat.
Davis and Dykes both earned All-Conference honors in the shot put. Marquis Davis finished in 2nd place with a throw of 46.06 feet, while Kevin Dykes’ throw of 45.03 feet landed him in 4th place.
Geofray Langat, the reigning CIAA cross country individual champion, finished in 2nd place in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 15.55.82. Melvin Eddison finished in 4th place in the 60 meter hurdles finishing in a time of 8.50 seconds.
