VUU DOWNS SHAW 3-2 IN VOLLEYBALL

Virginia Union University's Michaela Vanakova had 21 kills and 15 defensive digs to lead the Lady Panthers over Shaw University 25-30, 33-31, 25-30, 30-24, 15-13 in a hard-fought match in Raleigh, NC, on Thursday.
VUU's Thelma Whitehurst added 12 digs while Evanique Donaldson had 14 kills. Shayla Bryson had four service aces and Porsche Carlisle had 10 kills in the win.
Sophomore setter Radka Skacelova had 31 assists in the win.
The win raised VUU's record to 13-7 overall and 12-2 in the CIAA.
VUU now returns home for the regular-season finale against Bowie State University in Barco-Stevens Hall at 6 p.m. on October 31. |
