Virginia Union University's Rickeita Blunt was named to the All-CIAA team in women's tennis and then went on to finish third in the CIAA Tournament, held April 19-22 at Virginia State University in Petersburg, Va.
Blunt defeated her opponent from Livingstone College but fell to her counterpart from Fayetteville State University in the second round. Blunt then defeated her opponent from Virginia State to place third.
VUU's women's tennis team also finished third in the championship. Shaw University won the CIAA title with 55 total points while Fayetteville State finished second with 51 points.
