Virginia Union University's Geofray Langat was the individual CIAA champion in the CIAA Cross-Country Champions, held on Thursday in Cary, N.C.
Langat, a freshman from Kenya, won the men's title with a time of 25:17.77 over the 8-kilometer course.
VUU men's team finished fifth in the overall standings.
