Admission Requirements - Master of Divinity
 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Any person holding the baccalaureate degree or its equivalent from an accredited college or university is eligible to apply for admission to the course of study leading to the Master of Divinity degree. Applicants who do not hold the baccalaureate degree must submit the necessary transcripts, certificates and any other supportive documents that might assist in establishing equivalency.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must submit official sealed transcripts from all colleges and universities you have attended since graduating from high school. Please note previous graduates of Virginia Union University must also submit an official transcript.

A recommendation from his/her pastor, college professor or employer, and two other persons who can verify the character and ability of the applicant is also required. Evidence must be shown of intellectual preparedness to do graduate work, promise of leadership skills, high ideals and character, and consecration to the work of ministry.

To support the request for admission to the course of study, the applicant must submit a clear statement indicating why they wish to pursue a Master of Divinity Degree. All applicants must submit an application form from the web or The STVU Office of Admissions, along with a non-refundable fee of $25.00. Applications may be submitted at any time, but application review will be subject to the scheduled application deadlines for admission during a given term. Following a review of these documents by the Admissions Review Committee, the student will be notified of the action taken.
 
ADMISSIONS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
International applicants must submit all admission requirements stated above. Applicants requesting an I-20 Form must submit the Financial Statement for International Students which should indicate resources to cover the cost of attendance.  A bank statement on official bank letterhead certifying the funds available or a signed statement by the sponsor(s) should be submitted as well.  International monies must show the appropriate conversion rates to the US dollar.  The I-20 will be issued after the applicant is admitted to the University, and has submitted the following forms: Financial Statement, Residential Form, and Immunization Form.
