New Fight Policy

Keep Your ID Cards!
Students are required to maintain the student identification card for the entirety of their tenure at Virginia Union University. The Student Identification card is the accepted method of verifying that an individual is officially enrolled at Virginia Union University. Therefore, it is important to have it on one's person at all times. Loss or theft of the ID card should be reported immediately to Campus Police.

  • The process for acquiring a new ID card begins at Student Accounts in C.D. King on Leigh and Lombardy Street at the price of $50, which is non-negotiable and must be paid up front. This fee will not be added to your account.
  • The second step is taking a new photograph at the Police Station in the basement of Pickford Hall on the main campus.
  • At this point, you will present your receipt of payment and be reissued yoru ID.

Until this process is complete, ther will be no admission to the cafeteria, Post Office, and campus events. IDs must be carried at all times.

New Fight Policy
Fighting is addressed in section 5 of the Standards of Conduct in the Student Handbook. It is described as:

Physical abuse of any person on University owned or controlled property, or at University-sponsored or supervised events, or conduct which threatens or endangers the health or safety of another.

Effective immediately, any student exhibiting behavior(s) such as those described above, will be immediately suspended pending a judicial hearing. Individuals who initiate such behaviors, including verbal assaults, damage to property, hitting, pushing, slapping or other behaviors or other behaviors that insight firghting will also be dealt with severely.

Please review the Student Handbook for further information on the policy of fighting. This new policy wnet into effect on October 10, 2003.
