Virginia Union University Quality Enhancement Plan 2020 - 2025

Tomorrow Starts Today

The 2020-2025 plan is in development and scheduled to be reviewed for approval in the early Spring, 2020. The anticipated launch of the Tomorrow Starts Today QEP initiative is Fall, 2020.

The Virginia Union University Quality Enhancement Plan is a focused, action research and improvement initiative to enhance student achievement. Our QEP will describe a “carefully designed course of action that addresses a well-defined and focused topic or issue related to enhancing student learning and/or the environment supporting student learning and accomplishing the mission of the institution” (SACSCOC Handbook for Institutions Seeking Reaffirmation, 2018).

VUU QEP Topic (tentative)

For the 2020-2025 VUU QEP students will strengthen their ability to reflect critically by learning how to examine and evaluate their preferences and goals as they explore their academic major and plan a career.

VUU QEP Student Learning Outcomes (tentative)

Students will demonstrate increased ability to critically evaluate their preferences and goals as they select their major and plan their career.
Students will develop skills in 1) critical self-reflection and 2) critical self-regulation.
Students will learn the skill and practice of metacognition (mindfulness).
