If the student has exhausted the university institutional process, a further complaint can be filed with the Virginia State Council of Higher Education at www.schev.edu.
Virginia Union University is an approved member institution of NC-SARA, and the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) is the SARA Portal Entity for Virginia.
Students should first attempt to resolve their complaint(s) using the VUU Student Complaint Process procedures described above. If the complainant is not satisfied with the outcome of the institution’s complaint process, the resolution of the complaint (except for complaints about grades or student conduct violations) may be appealed, within two years of the incident about which the complaint is made, to the SARA State Portal Entity of the home state of the institution or to the SARA State Portal Entity of the state in which the student is located.
