1. What classes will I take in Panther Summer Academy, and will they count toward my degree?
You will take the first of the required English composition courses (English 100 or 101, depending on placement test scores), Math (100 or 115, depending on placement test scores), and GST 004, which is a General Studies/Freshman Orientation Course.
2. How much does the Panther Summer Academy Program Cost?
The Panther Summer Academy Program is a total of $2,000. This includes housing, tuition, and meals. There will be an additional cost for books. Payment plans are available. Contact the Center for Student Success and Retention at 804-342-6765 or 804-342-3885.
3. What if I have an outside obligation during the dates of Panther Summer Academy (summer job, family vacation, etc.)?
The Panther Summer Academy Program is a four-week, full-time experience. During the Panther Summer Academy you will have classes, and activities all day. You MUST be able to participate during the duration of the program.
4. When does the Panther Summer Academy Program take place?
Move-in day is Sunday, July 1st. Students will be notified of the Residence Hall and exact check in time once they have confirmed that they will be attending by returning their registration form and initial deposit.
5. How do I register for Panther Summer Academy ?
You may register for the Panther Summer Academy program by completing the online application ONLY. Each freshman student must confirm their attendance to VUU, for the upcoming fall by paying their confirmation fee to the University Cashiers Office before registering for the Panther Summer Academy. The Panther Summer Academy Program has a payment plan option.
