Dr. Adelaja Odutola served as a Consultant for the Learning and Resource Center, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), analyzed and evaluated existing employee-training program, developed and implemented employee productivity- enhancement pilot program (1980-1981). Dr. Odutola is a high-level strategic thinker who brings a broad vision, pragmatic leadership and collaborative style to address the twenty-first century challenges and opportunities faced by Virginia Union University - Sydney Lewis School of Business. Under his leadership as dean, Virginia Union University was selected as a primary HBCU Institution under Global Resource Solution’s, Inc.’s Mentor-Protégé Agreement with the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA); assembled a team of faculty and staff to establish the Center for Small Business Development and increased external relations through active engagement by the Center’s staff and faculty with the business community and community leaders. He served as dean from 2007-2015.
Dr.Odutola has (31) thirty one years of work experience in teaching, research, and program management in higher education. He served as dean of the Sydney Lewis School of Business from 2007 - 2015 and as the President of VUU's Faculty Senate from 2005 - 2007. He is an active member of the Virginia Economics Association, and Richmond Association of Business Economists. He served as an Advanced Placement Economics Reader for the Educational Testing Service (ETS), Princeton, New Jersey (1996, 1997, 2003, and 2004). Prof. Odutola is an active member on the Board of Directors of Frederic L. Ray Biblical Institute, Petersburg, Virginia (2004 – present).

Dr. Delta R. Bowers is a Professor of Management and Marketing in the Sydney Lewis School of Business. She also serves in the capacity of Director of the Internship Program for the department. In her role as Director of the Internship for the VUU Sydney Lewis School of Business, she is charged with placing students in internship position in premier organizations where they can gain experience in their majors and the corporate environment, and develop professional relationships. The ultimate goal is to give the students a competitive advantage as they enter the workforce upon graduation.
Dr. Bowers is a Senior Continuity of Operations/Government expert, leader, and manager with 25+ years of successful work history in technical and management consulting, financial analysis, budget analysis and control, auditing, legislative analysis, regulatory and compliance management, and administration. Over the last 15 years, Dr. Bowers was the Lead Senior Continuity of Government Program Manager for the Government National Mortgage Association (Ginnie Mae), a wholly owned government corporation with over a trillion dollars in assets. In this position along with her team, Dr. Bowers established the corporation’s Enterprise-wide Continuity of Government plan, established Emergency Relocation Sites, trained staff and business partners, and tested the plan for its effectiveness. Additionally, she ensured the plan met all requirements dictated by the White House, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Government Accountability Office. Dr. Bowers’ other government clients included the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, a division of the United States Department of Commerce, and the United States Small Business Administration. Dr. Bowers’ private sector engagements included Fannie Mae, the National Association of Securities Dealers and Riggs National Bank. Dr. Bowers is currently and has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of DRB & Associates for approximately 20 years, a small woman-owned management consulting firm. She is the President of Pangaea Water, and Pangaea Productions, a small, woman-owned natural spring water distribution and events management organization.
Dr. Bowers received her Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Economics, her Master of General Administration in Financial Management from the University of Maryland University College, and her Doctorate of Management in Organizational Leadership from the University of Phoenix. She is a community activist, a member of the Association of Contingency Planners, President of the Chickahominy Bluffs Homeowners’ Association, Social Chair for the Executive Women’s Golf Association of Richmond, Virginia, and a recipient of the NAACP Community Service Award. In her spare time, she enjoys playing golf, biking, camping, and tennis.
