Dr. Eseonu received her BA from East Stroudsburg State University in Pennsylvania in 1977, her M.S. in Organic Chemistry from Howard University in 1981, and her Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1989. From 1990 – 1993, she served as an Assistant Professor at Virginia State University. She joined the faculty at VUU in 1993 and was instrumental in activating the Chemistry Program. Her services at VUU include: Chemistry Program Coordinator, Advisor and Mentor to Science Majors. Dr. Eseonu is also professionally active outside the University. She has served on numerous positions with the Virginia Section of The American Chemical Society (ACS), including chairing the Section in 2006. Dr. Eseonu’s research focuses on Synthesis and Characterization of Biologically Active Compounds.
