CHARLOTTE, NC - The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) will host its 2019 Bowling Championship in Virginia Beach, Virginia beginning Saturday, March 23rd – Sunday, March 24th, 2019. The event will be held at AMF Lynnhaven Lanes - located at 2601 Lishelle Place, Virginia Beach, VA 23452. Opening ceremony will begin at 10:35 a.m. on Saturday while bracket play will begin at approximately 11:50 a.m. The championship is free and open to the public.
The top eight (8) CIAA teams will come together to compete for the 2019 championship title. Southern Division champion Fayetteville State University (51-0 in the CIAA) has claimed the No. 1 seed while defending CIAA champion Bowie State University (43-7 in the CIAA) will enter the bracket as the No. 2 seed after finishing the regular season with the Northern Division title. FSU and BSU will be joined by No. 3 Virginia State University, No. 4 Virginia Union University, No. 5 Shaw University, No. 6 Johnson C. Smith University, No. 7 Livingstone College, and No. 8 Saint Augustine's University.
In last year’s championship, Bowie State defeated Fayetteville State to win their fourth consecutive conference title and eighth in school history.
