The Virginia Union University Golf Program, headed by Head Golf Coach E. Lee Coble, has signed three players to National Letters of Intent.
Alkin Barkley (left) is from Johannesburg, South Africa and will be Majoring in Business Accounting. His hobbies and interests are golf, soccer and tennis. When asked why he chose VUU, Barkley wrote, “I want to attend VUU to further my golf career and skills against some of the best in the country while getting a higher education.” Barkley also wants “to help my team and coach in achieving the best possible season.”
Sherwood Baskerville (center) is from South Hill, Va., and will be majoring in Business. His hobbies and interests are golf, photography and volunteering. When Baskerville was asked why he chose VUU, he wrote, “I want to attend VUU to be able to play collegiate golf and further my education.” Baskerville is excited about playing collegiate golf and he believes that VUU will help mold him into a man and prepare him for life.
Travon Willis (right) is from Indian Trails, N.C., and he will be majoring in Engineering. His hobbies and interests are golf and bike riding. Willis said he chose VUU not just for golf but “because of its engineering program.”
"I am very excited about this group of incoming recruits. I feel strongly they will be a great complement to the returning members of the golf team. We are looking forward to a strong 2018-19 golf season", said Coble.
