Lady Panthers Open Home Softball Season

Virginia Union University's Karinna Gooding scored a run while Brenda Reninga drove in two runs, but Millersville University defeated VUU 11-3 and 12-1 on the Lady Panthers' home opener double-header on Saturday, March 9, at the VUU Softball Field in Richmond, Va.

Reninga's RBIs came in the first game, driving in Gooding with a single in the third inning and then driving in Yazmine Lewis after being hit by a pitch in fourth inning.

VUU's Diamond Jones also drove in a run in the fourth inning of the first game.

In the second game, Lewis tripled in the second inning to drive in Summer Moroch with the Lady Panthers' lone run.

Virginia Union will now travel to Elizabeth City, N.C., to compete in the CIAA Round-Up on March 15-17.
