Virginia Union University’s Terrell Leach and Will Jenkins have been named to the BoxToRow All-American Men’s Basketball Team, it was announced on Monday, April 1.
Leach, a junior guard from High Point, N.C., majoring in Entrepreneurial Management , was named First-Team All-America while Jenkins, a junior forward from Baltimore, Md., majoring in Accounting and Banking, was named Second Team All-America.
Leach led the Panthers with a 21.0 point-per-game scoring average. He scored 31 points against Shaw University and 30 points against Bowie State University.
Jenkins was named the 2019 CIAA Defensive Player of the Year while leading VUU with an average of 8.5 rebounds per game and was second on the team in scoring with a 15.3 points-per-game average. He pulled down a season-high 15 rebounds against Bowie State.
“I'm really happy for Will and Terrell,” VUU Head Coach Jay Butler said. “I thought they were one of the best scoring tandems in the conference this year. I'm looking forward to having both of them for their senior season next year.”
VUU finished with 19 wins on the season.
