Virginia Union brings home the wins from Honda's National Academic Tournament

April 17, 2018

Four Virginia Union Students (Emmanuel Antwi, Aaron Coleman, Asha Fola-Wigham, and Kevonia Jones) represented the Panthers at the annual Honda Campus All-Star Challenge Tournament in Los Angeles, California, April 7-11.  The competition is an academic quiz-bowl game, similar to Jeopardy!, but played as a team.  VUU's team is organized by Ms. Kristyn Miller and coached by Dr. Peter Sutton.  This year the Panthers finished third in their division, having a 3-2 record overall, with wins over Claflin, Alabama State, and Lincoln-Missouri.  Jackson State won the championship, defeating runner-up Spelman in a best-of-three series on April 10th.
