(Richmond) - Virginia Union University is elated to announce that it will award Christmas Day scholarship to students. $250,000 in need-based scholarships are available and students will be selected based on their student profile. The names of the students will be announced on December 25, 2019 on VUU Social Media channels (@vaunion1865 on INstagram and Twitter, and @virginia.union on FB).
“We are doing everything in our power to ensure that our students are able to concentrate on their academics and not be burdened with financial debt,” said Dr. Hakim J. Lucas, President & CEO at Virginia Union University. “Announcing these awards on Christmas is our gift to the students and their families. We want to inspire our students and encourage them to continue their studies.”
The scholarships are available thanks to several contributions from alumni, donors, and corporate partners. VUU is looking to help students continue their education and reduce the amount of student loan debt. This scholarship will be available at the start of the spring semester 2020. 115 students are on the list and have until noon on Friday, January 3rd, 2020 to accept the award.
