(Richmond, VA) – Members of the Virginia Union University Choir will be singing on Good Morning America (GMA) Wednesday, June 10 at 7:00 a.m. Alongside host Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos and Michael Strahan, The choir will serve background vocals to singer Jose Feliciano as he debuts his new song “I’m America” live for the first time.
“We are so excited about the tremendous job the university choir continues to do,” said Dr. Hakim Lucas, President & CEO of Virginia Union University. “I would like to personally thank J. David Bratton and Jose Feliciano for providing this opportunity for our students during these times. This song is fitting as the world continues to grapple with the senseless death of George Floyd and realize that Black Lives Matter.”
The performance on GMA will be under the direction of Gospel Music super producer J. David Bratton. Bratton was a major highlight during the Inauguration of Dr. Lucas. Performing in front of a sold-out crowd of VUU supporters, alongside Gospel Recording Artist Bishop Hezekiah Walker. Bratton also lead a delegation of choir students on a European Tour to bring in 2020. The tour hosted 16 concerts, all of which were sold out, from Dec. 7th through January 3rd.
