The VUU Radio Production class has been partnering with WRIR this semester, participating in Production Hang Outs or Workshops and shadowing producers as well as using WRIR’s professional facilities to record their segments. All students are mass communications majors.

For the second half of the semester the Radio Production class, which is now scattered from North Carolina to New York City is recording audio diaries on their experiences during the coronavirus pandemic utilizing skills they acquired during the first part of the semester --recording stand ups with ambient sound and interviews. They are posting their work on Soundcloud and a finished product will air as an hour-long special on WRIR 97.3 FM Richmond, Virginia and WRIR.org. The VUU Radio Production class is taught by Richmond-based journalist Dina Weinstein. The show was produced by WRIR president Melissa Vaughn.
