Virginia Union University Welcomes Dr. David Caruth as Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness

[Richmond, VA - April 19, 2024] Virginia Union University (VUU) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Davis Caruth as the Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness. With over 25 years of experience, Dr. Caruth brings a wealth of expertise to his new position.
Prior to joining VUU, Dr. Caruth served as the Chief Analytics Officer at E.C. Fennell P.A. Engineering Consultants, where he spearheaded data-driven decision-making processes. He created environments conducive to informed decision-making by utilizing advanced research methods to collect, analyze, and report operational data.
Dr. Caruth's leadership facilitated the identification of trends, strengths, weaknesses, and profitability factors within the organization, ultimately contributing to enhanced bottom-line results. Notably, he earned recognition from ECF Engineering Consultants for his outstanding work furthering the company's mission.
Additionally, Dr. Caruth served as a Program Evaluator at Palm Beach County Community Services, where he provided statistical expertise crucial for the development of monitoring tools and data integration reports. His contributions enabled the evaluation of changes in healthcare outcomes and services, showcasing his dedication to enhancing community welfare through data-driven strategies.
In his new role at VUU, Dr. Caruth is poised to leverage his extensive background and education, including a Bachelor's in Political Science, a Master's in Public Administration, and a Ph.D. in Adult Learning & Technology. He expressed his enthusiasm for contributing to VUU's transformative journey, stating, "I am honored to join Virginia Union University and excited to collaborate with the President's leadership team to advance the institution's vision of becoming a top-tier Historically Black Colege and University (HBCU). My experience and education in transformative learning theory will be instrumental in grounding the university's transformation initiatives."
