Virginia Union University Welcomes Michael Manigault as Associate Vice President of Major Gifts & Capital Giving

RICHMOND, VA --- September 13, 2023] — Virginia Union University President and CEO Dr. Hakim J. Lucas is excited to welcome Michael Manigault as Associate Vice President for Major Gifts & Capital Giving.

Mr. Michael Manigault holds the position of Associate Vice President for Major Gifts and Capital Giving at Virginia Union University, where his primary responsibilities encompass the identification, cultivation, and stewardship of individual, corporate, and philanthropic entities that share alignment with the university's mission.

Before joining Virginia Union, Manigault accumulated nearly a decade of experience in the non-profit sector, serving as a development professional. During this tenure, he played a pivotal role in securing over $65 million in support for workforce development programs, specifically directed towards empowering opportunity youth, veterans, and justice-involved individuals. Prior to his involvement in the non-profit realm, Manigault worked as an associate at a prominent New York-based law firm, where his focus centered on large-scale infrastructure finance.

Michael Manigault approaches his responsibilities with enthusiasm, a warm demeanor, and a steadfast commitment to achieving excellence. His academic background comprises a Bachelor of Arts degree from Howard University, where he graduated with honors as a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and a Juris Doctor from Duke University School of Law.
