Volleyball Beats VSU for First Time in Four Years

Virginia Union University's Taurie Magee had 14 kills while freshman teammate Jada Starling had 12 kills to lead the Lady Panthers to a 25-19, 22-25, 25-21, 25-20 upset win over CIAA arch-rival Virginia State University on Monday, October 8, in Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.

The win was the first by a VUU team over a VSU squad in four years.  Virginia Union's last win over Virginia State came on September 22, 2014.

VUU's Minne Masoe had 19 assists while teammate Jamaica Adams had 23 defensive digs.

Virginia Union's A'rmaria Wright had 17 assists and Starling had 14 digs in the win.

The win raised VUU's record to 7-12 overall and 6-4 in the CIAA.  Virginia State fell to 15-7 overall and 11-6 in CIAA play.
