The Virginia Union University women's volleyball team ran its winning streak to seven straight matches as the Lady Panthers swept Lincoln (Pa.) University 3-0 and 3-0 on Monday, October 15, in Lincoln University, Pa.
The seven match win streak is the longest for a Lady Panther volleyball team since 2006.
In the first match, VUU's Ambryanna Moore, Jada Starling and Taurie Magee each had seven kills to lead Virginia Union to a 25-10, 25-21, 25-17 sweep of the Lions.
VUU's A'rmaria Wright had 12 assists while teammate Jamaica Adams had 15 defensive digs.
In the second match, VUU's Zaquae Downton had eight kills while Wright had 14 assists to power Virginia Union to a 25-6, 25-10, 25-7 win over Lincoln.
Adams also led the Lady Panthers with 17 digs.
The wins raised VUU's record to 10-12 overall and 9-4 in CIAA play. The Lady Panthers are also in a statistical tie with Virginia State University for first place in the Northern Division of the CIAA.
VUU now travels to Bowie, Md., to face Bowie State University at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 20.
