VUU Response to Town Hall Meeting on Residence Halls

Dear Panther Family,
I would like to thank those of you who had an opportunity to join us at the Town Hall meeting on September 17th. I want you to know that we heard you, and we are ready to respond. We truly care about you and believe you deserve the best. I never want you to feel that you are forced to live in unhealthy conditions. VUU is working to ensure that the water, cooling, extermination, and basic repair of structural damages are addressed immediately. We will better communicate when major repairs are scheduled, and keep you updated regarding your maintenance request. The goal is that this open communication allows us an opportunity to keep you informed of the status of your building and space.
If conditions are not repairable or deemed unlivable we will move you to another clean/livable space within a 24-hour period. If you have to move we will have a team to assist you with your relocation.
We have launched a new communication tool that will help you inform us in a quick and efficient manner when you have a concern. We have opened up an online maintenance request through your MyVUU portal (see picture below). The form will allow you to report issues with your living space that goes directly to management and administration to increase accountability.

Review Team Visiting Buildings

Topic: Speak your Mind and Concerns with Student Leaders who Care
Date: Monday, September 17, 2018 – October 12, 2018
Time: Beginning September 17th until October 12th SGA will begin visiting buildings over the next few weeks to hear, see concerns, and propose solutions to the President and VUU Cabinet Members.

Team: Division of Student Affairs and the Office of Student Activities and Leadership
Topic: Share your concerns with faculty, staff, and students and give them 48 hours to respond with a campus-wide notice within 72 hours.
