VUU Panthers:

Greetings on behalf of the Division of Student Development and Success!

We are delighted that you chose our institution of higher learning. As you know, Virginia Union University is nourished by its African American heritage and energized by a commitment to excellence and diversity. Our mission is to provide a nurturing, intellectually challenging and spiritually enriching environment for learning; empower students to develop strong moral values for success; and develop scholars, leaders, and lifelong learners of a global society. We strive to accomplish this mission by offering a broad range of educational opportunities that advance liberal arts education, teaching, research, science, technology, continuing education, civic engagement, and international experiences.

To commence your journey and matriculation through Virginia Union University, we wanted to ensure that you have access to the 2025-2027 VUU Student Handbook. This official handbook serves as the primary institutional resource that highlights and details undergraduate, graduate, and online students’ rights and responsibilities. Regardless of your learning modality, the student handbook discusses campus life, offices, and services, and clearly delineates sections that detail students' rights to due process, as well as the Student Code of Conduct and University Grievance Policy

We hope that you enjoy becoming familiar with our student handbook, as well as our institutional and behavioral expectations of you.

Keep rising to the occasion and representing the best that VUU has to offer!

Again, welcome!

Dr. Jordan H. Brooks,
Dean of Students/Chief Student Experience Officer
