STVU alum Dr. Leonard Edloe is currently serving as president of the American Pharmacists Association Foundation. Headquartered in Washington, DC, the American Pharmacists Association Foundation is affiliated with the American Pharmacists Association, the oldest and largest national professional society of pharmacists in the United States established in 1852.

New restaurant owned and operated by STVU alumus Malcolm Andress to address food deserts

Dr. Malcolm Andress, a graduate of the Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) program of the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology of Virginia Union University, operates several food establishments in the City of Richmond designed to address food deserts in the area.

Bishop Kim W. Brown named Chesapeake 2017 First Citizen

Bishop Kim W. Brown, senior pastor of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, was named 2017 Chesapeake First Citizen by the Rotary Club of Chesapeake. Bishop Brown, an STVU alumnus, will be honored on September 21, 2017.

Reverend Brian Ellison continues to build a progressive congregation at the Church of the New Covenant in Detroit

STVU alumnus Brian Ellison, an attorney and pastor of Church of the New Covenant in Detroit, is committed to building a progressive and inclusive congregation after officiating a same-sex marriage ceremony. Rev. Ellison is also the brother of Congressman Keith Ellison who represents the 5th Congressional district of Minnesota.

Dr. Darryl Aaron to serve as a keynote preacher at the 2017 New Baptist Covenant Summit 

Joining famed Civil Rights activist Congressman John Lewis, STVU alumnus and Pastor of Providence Baptist Church in Greensboro, NC Dr. Darryl Aaron will serve as a keynote preacher at the 2017 New Baptist Convenant Summit in Atlanta, GA.

STVU alumnus Dr. Morris G. Henderson to retire 

Dr. Morris G. Henderson, alumnus of the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology and pastor of Thirty-first Street Baptist Church in Richmond, recently announced his plans to retire after serving as pastor of this Church Hill faith community for the past decade.
