The Center for Lifelong Learning and Leadership (CL3) is an advocate for church leaders. Consistent with the mission of the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology of Virginia Union University. The Center promotes the importance of lifelong learning for church leaders as a means to a healthy and sustainable congregational life. The Center accomplishes this through its partnership with the Baptist General Convention of Virginia.
The unit of measurement used to certify satisfactory performance in the program is the Continuing Education Unit (CEU). The CEU is the nationally recognized and standardized measure for performance in similar programs of education and training. One CEU is defined as: “ten contact hours of participation in an organized continuing education experience under responsible sponsorship, capable direction and qualified instruction.”
From its inception, the intent was to offer educational opportunities to persons who, for some reason, would not matriculate in a four-year program of academic study leading to a baccalaureate degree. The CEU was deemed the appropriate measuring criteria.
An event held each March offering inspirational workshops and seminars that will resource and enhance ministry in local congregations and beyond.
